The LIT method just released the LIT axis, and it is taking smart training by storm through resistance bands. This one-of-a-kind hybrid rower-reformer device is designed to calculate resistance loads, measure total time under tension, and count reps while remaining fully portable and requiring no charging. LIT Axis eliminates the barrier of being charged exorbitant prices for premium fitness by opening up a new range of fitness possibilities.
How does the LIT Axis Work?
The LIT Axis appears at first glance to be a simple resistance band set, albeit very sleek. It has an anchor point, four resistance bands that can support up to 200 pounds of weight, and attachable ankle straps and handles.
However, the two small sensors that may be attached to any of the resistance bands are what do the magic. These sensors pair with your tablet or Smartphone via Bluetooth, collect data and display the metrics in real time on the app. The LIT Method app also allows you to stream classes in addition and cast them on your TV set.

The Axis can track time under tension, display the amount of resistance you are lifting, count reps, and even detect imbalances by comparing motions on your right and left sides. For instance, you might discover that your right leg has a 20% greater lifting capacity than your left.
What are workouts on the LIT Axis like?
While LIT axis is primarily a strength-training gadget, that’s not the only type of exercise you can do with it. You might be surprised to learn that is designed as a replacement for your cable system, Pilates reformer, free weights, and suspension trainer, and you can use it to do more than 350 workouts, from Pilates hundreds to squats and boxing.
The LIT on-demand platform gives you access to Axis-specific programs, workouts, plus thousands of classes. Exercise offerings range between 10 and 40 minutes, span a wide variety of modalities, and can be easily streamed both on-demand and live.
You can take training classes with celebrity trainers Lacey Stone and Jarret Janako, Pilates instructor Jazmine Rivers and HIIT and prenatal expert Ashley Joi, for example. During workouts, your metrics will be displayed on the screen, allowing you to keep track of your performance.
What exactly does it feel like working out with LIT Axis?
At first, I wondered how such a tiny device can help me do more than 350 workouts. However, having experienced various “smart” gyms in my fitness journey, I found the LIT Axis Program quite revolutionary, especially considering how compact and portable it is.
One of the best features I noticed is that it was able to detect muscle imbalances in my weight-lifting capacity. This makes a lot of sense as I tend to carry most heavy items with my left arm. This helped me start using my right arm more to counter the imbalance.
Keep in mind that most people tend to use one side of their body more; whether it’s carrying a baby, suitcase, or anything, one side will always be dominant. The LIT Axis technology is designed to correct such imbalances because muscle imbalance is one of the most common causes of injury. This rings true for me because I recently had shoulder impingement on my left shoulder.
As you make it through your workout session, LIT Axis will accurately count your reps and the total force you are lifting. Its patented smart resistance can adjust up to 200lbs (via 3 locking resistance bands), allowing for gradual progression, while the small size replaces most weight training gym equipment.
Although it’s important to keep track of the weight you are moving during each workout, the axis makes you compete with yourself, unlike leaderboards, where you compete with other fitness enthusiasts. The Lit Axis method is all about you!
