Magnetic Rowers
Magnetic resistance rowers use a magnetic brake system to create braking resistance on the flywheel. Besides providing a very smooth and quiet rowing experience, magnetic resistance can be measured accurately through various electronic components. Magnetic resistance rowers allow for user-friendly digital displays that provide accurate and detailed information on calories burned, distance and other useful data.
As the metal flywheel spins, the magnet can be moved farther away or closer to create less or more resistance. However, although resistance on magnetic rowers is adjustable, they take up a little more room because they have a rigid rail that cannot be collapsed or folded. Therefore, they may not be the best choice for use in smaller spaces.
Many rowing enthusiasts love magnetic resistance rowing machines because they are very quiet but also provide a very smooth rowing motion. Some people feel that the resistance is generally weaker on magnetic rowing machines and you can get a better workout on water or air resistance rowers. Nowadays, magnetic rowers are very popular even in the lower price range. Many magnetic rowers provide the option to take it apart for storage.
