Water Resistance Rowing Machines
Water resistance rowers are equipped with a water tank with paddles inside. As the rower pulls the handle, the paddles spin in the tank, using water to create resistance. Just like air resistance rowers, these rowers provide more resistance the harder and faster you row.
However, resistance can also be adjusted by removing or adding water to the tank. With less water in the tank, the rowing experience generally feels “lighter” and more water in the tank makes the rowing “heavier”.
Water resistance rowing machines are relatively rigid large and heavy due to the water tank. Although they aren’t as noisy as air resistance versions, they are generally noisier than magnetic resistance models but provide an incredibly smooth rowing experience.
However, some users consider the sound to be relaxing and soothing. The sound falls somewhere between a magnetic and air rower. They have a “variable” resistance type because the resistance is directly related to the user’s rowing intensity and also because the resistance can also be adjusted by changing the amount of water in the tank. Moreover, the rowing motion closely resembles rowing on water.
